Data Science for the Public Good

Data Science for the Public Good Program is a program run by the University of Virginia that aims to provide solutions to social problems using data science tools. Within the scope of the program, students from various universities in the USA apply every summer and the students who are eligible for the program receive an 11-week full-time data science education in Washington DC. At a certain stage of the education program, students are expected to produce data science-oriented projects that can solve the social problems of the Washington DC region.
We are bringing the Data Science for the Public Good program to Istanbul and Ankara and developing solutions to our city's problems with data science! The Data Science for the Public Good program trains young people from social sciences, engineering and other disciplines in the field of data science. Participants who receive training come together with the partners of the program and develop projects to better understand social problems and find solutions to them with the open data provided to them.
